“Alfred the robot” was made as an entry for Anthony Scott’s Stopmo Jam 2022 and a collaboration between me and Animator and fellow artist and friend William Pakyntein. The overall theme for this Jam was Science-Fiction, but we decided early on to focus on a warmer and softer interpretation of something that could be considered rather cold or inhumane.

Alfred the robot is like a small and somewhat twisted retelling of Pinocchio with the role of the carpenter being taken by an elderly inventor, making himself a dapper little companion. What we see on screen are the first few moments of Alfred awaking and gaining conscience.

I designed and built the puppet and helped with storyboarding. Set, prop-making and animation was done by William and I helped with Post-Production and Sound design. Music was composed and played by our talented musician friend Liubov Liutenko.
