INSECTA is an experimental paper animation that i made in collaboration with two lovely artist friends, Angelika Schulze and Kerstin Kaestner. It is a short film about both the slow and steady death of lots of different types of insects, as well as their small and secret lives.
Our aim was not to approach this heavy subject from a scientific angle but an emotional one, showing both the joy and life of insects as well as their demise and the silence that follows with species disappearing. Our artistic roles were shifting, all of us handled animation, puppet making and set-up. It was on me to handle most of the post-production. Music was composed and played by the talented music duo Obuntu.
