In 2024 my good friend Pattama Homrod hosted another dancing animation challenge, this time the theme was Salsa. My initial idea was to make a puppet for it that was both possible to realize in a short time span and also visually in contrast to the theme. My love for melancholy clown children lead me to make a little sad clown boy all in rose colored fabrics, dancing the Salsa with not even a hint of a smile on his face.

This puppet was another one made with a simple wire frame, due to time constraints there are no replacement faces but the body was articulate enough to express the main movements needed. Partaking in these dance challenges is always very fun and I’m learning a lot from them. As the sad little clown boy isn’t made to be part of any bigger story I will use him for test animations and teaching myself more nuanced character animation in the future.
