“The boy who is not really there” is a short animation based on a personal book project of mine with the same name. It was supposed to be a small snippet, a window into the dreamscape of the young boy protagonist. A strange place of undefined and surreal sights, other humans just strange whispering voices from nowhere, undecipherable.
The central theme of both the book and the animation is the boy not partaking in things that affect and surround him, he looks like a blank slate, shows little to no reactions. Things happen to him, not because of him or for him.
